Nature Nurture CIC is an award winning company on a mission to connect urban communities with the nature on their doorstep. We work with the conservation, heritage, health and education sectors to achieve multiple outcomes including improved health & wellbeing and increased environmental awareness and action.
In 2016 we achieved a Pride of Reading Award. In 2019 we won the Institute of Outdoor Learning's 'Community Development Award'.
Our clients include Reading Borough Council, The National Trust, BBC Learning, The Woodland Trust, The Canal and River Trust, The Royal College of Psychiatrists, The Land Trust and numerous schools and nurseries in Reading and West Berkshire.
We aim to have a positive impact on communities locally and nationally and as well as delivering workshops in the Thames Valley, we provide consultancy, training and learning resources across the UK.
In 2011 Nature Nurture was granted ‘Community Interest Company’ (CIC) status by the CIC Regulator. We set up the organisation specifically to benefit the community, rather than operating for the benefit of shareholders. As a CIC any ‘profits’ we make are put back into the organisation to further our work. As a social enterprise, Nature Nurture is part of what’s known as the third sector, along with charities, community group and voluntary organisations.
